Melentree Advertising grew out of a lifelong commitment to understanding how people, families and neighborhoods communicate with one another.  The original founders of J3 Communications in 2000 were Julius Melendez, Jon Arguello and Javier Rejon.

In 2003, J3 Communications took a brief hiatus while founder and former Sgt. Julius Melendez was deployed to Iraq. Upon his return from the war, Julius worked on numerous political campaigns throughout Central Florida and in 2008 was elected as Vice Chairman of the Osceola County School Board. Subsequently, he was appointed to the Four Corners Charter School Board, Avant Garde Academy Advisory Board, Holy Redeemer Finance Committee, West Point Military Academy Nomination Board and currently chairs the School District Audit Advisory Committee.

Juilus was a member of the Florida Motion Picture and Television Association and active supporter of Film in Florida.  In addition, Julius is the author of an original screenplay/novel RIVERS OF SAND, Co-Producer of indie films POINT OF CONTACT and GATORMAN, and former Executive Producer of a Spanish language TV show entitled PUNTOS DE VISTA.

Julius graduated with an AA from Valencia College, a BS from the University of Central Florida (Major Molecular Biology, Minor Business Administration) an MBA from University of Phoenix South Orlando Campus, and a Digital Design Certificate from TECO.  He is certified in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere as well as all Microsoft Office products.
